Required: Interface Engineer / Interface Manager – High Voltage Substations

We ARE Renewables is currently looking for an Interface Engineer / Manager to lead the coordination of all technical interfaces in high-voltage onshore substation projects (AIS and GIS) ranging from 150 KV to 380 KV. You’ll serve as a crucial link between internal departments and external suppliers throughout both the design and execution phases. Your role is pivotal in ensuring that all systems work seamlessly together — on paper and on site.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Identify, track, and manage all technical interfaces between internal systems and external suppliers.
• Develop and maintain a detailed Interface Matrix, clearly assigning responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle (design, procurement, installation, commissioning, SAT).
• Ensure alignment on key systems and components including TFOs, GIS bays, AIS switchyards, and shunt reactors.

Coordination & Communication:

• Be the go-to contact for all interface-related discussions within the project.
• Facilitate information flow across key functions such as Design, Commissioning, Quality, Safety, and Planning.
• Manage the accurate and timely exchange of technical documentation with third-party vendors.

Technical Oversight

• Review third-party equipment specifications to ensure seamless integration into the overall project scope.
• Support the evaluation of vendor documentation for technical accuracy and compatibility.

Risk & Issue Management

• Identify potential interface conflicts early and lead efforts to resolve them.
• Proactively mitigate risks and contribute to reducing costly failures through improved cross-discipline collaboration.

Requirements:

• Solid experience with high-voltage substation projects (AIS and GIS), ideally in the 150–380 kV range.
• Strong understanding of key primary equipment: TFOs, GIS modules, AIS fields, shunt reactors, etc.
• Comfortable working in complex, multidisciplinary environments.
• Experience with interface management tools and methodologies.
• Excellent communicator with strong coordination skills and a structured, proactive mindset.
• Good command of the English language both spoken and written is required. Fluency in Dutch is a valuable addition but not a requirement.
